At Education Advocates Online we are driven to support the children we advocate for. Watching a child light up when they have the ability to learn at their pace, in their way, is why we do what we do. Kim Connolly

Supporting students, families, and caregivers is my main focus, and my first goal is to listen. Listening to caregivers, parents and students provides a clearer picture for me of what a child needs. Throughout my careers in teaching, consulting and educational technology I have enjoyed working with a variety of students from different backgrounds.  I have taught and supported students with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, developmental delays, ADHD, hearing impairments, and individuals on the autism spectrum. I have taught students who are gifted and twice exceptional.​ Personally, I find learning to be exciting, and I want to pass that excitement onto the students and families who seek our support.  Understanding that learning can be challenging, yet achievable, is possible with the right mindset, tools, and support. Creativity is part of the job when individualizing for each child.​​​​

My experience working in both public and private schools as well as in large metropolitan and small rural areas, has given me a unique perspective into education and learning. Each location has offered me new opportunities to help students, I have created programs, started departments, and coordinated with multiple districts to achieve needed services children required. Listening to caregivers, students and educators, is how I begin, and that continues throughout the advocacy process. Only after listening can we work together to empower a student to discover, or rediscover, their curiosity and love of learning.
